The Hebrew channel "i24 News" reported on Wednesday that the United Arab Emirates officially informed the Israeli Ministry of Security that Israeli security companies would not be allowed to participate in an international security conference to be held in Dubai in November.
According to the channel, the decision was communicated on Wednesday morning to officials in the Israeli Ministry of Security and the directors of the concerned companies. The organizing authorities in Dubai clarified that the step was taken "for security reasons," while senior Israeli sources considered the exclusion to be a direct response to the Israeli attack targeting leaders of Hamas in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The Israeli army and the Shin Bet announced on Tuesday the execution of an unprecedented airstrike on Qatari territory as part of an operation named "Operation Fire Summit," which Israel claimed targeted senior leaders of the movement. While Tel Aviv hinted at the success of the operation, Hamas denied the killing of its leaders.
The Emirati decision comes at a time when Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed is continuing a diplomatic tour, having visited Doha to reaffirm his country's support for Qatar's sovereignty and its position regarding recent developments.
