The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naeem Qassem, pledged on Sunday that the party "will confront the aggression" following the official announcement of the death of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei in the U.S.-Israeli military attack on Iran on Saturday.
Qassem stated in an official statement: "We will fulfill our duty to confront the aggression, and we will not leave the field of honor and resistance and the confrontation of American tyranny and Zionist crime to defend our land."
This pledge comes at a time when the party has not yet participated in military operations against the United States and Israel, raising tensions in the region and increasing fears of an escalation of the conflict in the coming days.
