Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian confirmed that his country considers revenge against those responsible for the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to be a "religious duty and a legitimate right," emphasizing that Tehran will bear this responsibility "with all its might."

Direct accusation against the American-Israeli axis
The Iranian president stated that the assassination of the highest political official in Iran by what he described as the "American-Israeli axis" represents a declaration of open war on Muslims around the world.
Iranian television had officially announced earlier the death of Khamenei, while Fars news agency reported that he died while in his office performing his duties.
The Revolutionary Guard vows to take revenge
For its part, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed that it will continue the path led by Khamenei, vowing a harsh response to those behind the assassination.
In an official statement, it said that its forces "will inflict severe punishment on the aggressors," adding that the response to Khamenei's death will be "crushing and decisive."
