The Syrian Minister of Health discusses with several organizations enhancing health support and securing vaccines

The Syrian Minister of Health, Dr. Musab Al-Ali, held a meeting on Monday with representatives of the "Gavi" and "UNICEF" and "World Health Organization" at the ministry building to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation to support the health sector in Syria and improve its quality of work, focusing on securing essential vaccines.
The minister emphasized during the meeting the "ministry's belief in the importance of vaccines and their necessity to protect the children of Syria and secure their future," praising the efforts of international organizations that align with the ministry's plan. He added that "there are clear promises that Syria will be exempt from any reduction in vaccine support."
For their part, representatives of the Global Vaccine Alliance "Gavi" indicated the preliminary approval to provide Syria with new vaccines that will be implemented during the coming year. The organization noted that its support will witness a decrease in all countries and regions it supports "due to the Ukraine war," while emphasizing communication with other donors and partners to support health efforts in Syria and cover the existing shortages.
The meeting also addressed the issue of transferring accredited medical expertise in northern Syria and disseminating it to all regions, as part of the ministry's efforts to improve health services nationwide.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib, Director of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Zuhair Al-Qar'at, Director of Primary Care Dr. Mohammed Al-Salem, along with several representatives of the participating international organizations.
