A mystery of a Swiss player disappearing ending with a body found in a Spanish port.

The Swiss third-tier club, Grengs Bacot, announced the death of their player Yakov Gilkic (24 years old) after his body was found in the port of Alicante, Spain, following days of mysterious disappearance!

The player was last seen leaving a bar with friends after a night out at a nightclub during his team's trip to Spain for a tournament. When he didn't return to his accommodation, hotel staff reported his absence, while his family turned to social media to search for him.

Spanish authorities confirmed finding his body on Monday evening in the waters of the port of Alicante, indicating that preliminary investigations suggest the death was accidental.

Grengs Bacot club mourned their player on their Instagram account, saying:

"We learned with deep sadness of Yakov's death. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and teammates. His memory will forever be engraved in our hearts."

It is worth mentioning that Gilkic scored one goal this season, while his team is in sixth place in the league standings after 11 matches, achieving 4 victories.
