Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and former Russian President, criticized U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday for the U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran, questioning the United States' ability to withstand a civilization with a history spanning thousands of years compared to America's relatively short history.
Medvedev's Statements
Medvedev said: "The peacemaker has once again shown his true face... All negotiations with Iran are nothing but a cover for real objectives. No one doubted that, and no one really wanted to negotiate anything." He added: "The question is which side will have the patience to wait the longest for the disgraceful end of their enemy. The United States is only 249 years old, while the Persian Empire was established over 2500 years ago. We will see what happens in 100 years."
U.S.-Israeli Attacks
These statements come after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the start of a preemptive attack against Iran, declaring a state of emergency throughout Israel.
Reports indicated waves of Iranian missiles targeting northern Israel, hitting cities like Safed and Haifa, as well as Tel Aviv, while sirens were heard in Jordan and explosions were reported in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE.
The Israeli army later confirmed it had detected several waves of Iranian missiles heading north and south amid rising tensions in the region.
