The Israeli army issued an urgent warning to residents of southern Lebanon on Wednesday, demanding that they evacuate their homes immediately and head north of the Litani River, in a move to expand its military operations against Hezbollah.
The army's Arabic spokesperson stated in a message published on the platform 'X' that 'Hezbollah's activities compel the army to act against it with force,' adding, 'We do not intend to harm you. For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately.'

Threat to Target Militarily Used Homes
The statement warned that 'anyone present near Hezbollah elements or its facilities or combat means is putting their life at risk,' indicating that any house used for military purposes 'may be subject to targeting.'
The army urged residents to stay at least one thousand meters away from the targeted villages and to head to open areas north of the Litani, emphasizing that any movement south could endanger civilian lives.
Expansion of Warnings
The Israeli army began issuing successive warnings since the early hours of dawn, initially covering 13 southern towns, before expanding the scope to include 16 villages and towns, including Rabat Thalathin, Markaba, Hula, Qabriha, Shuqra, Majdal Silim, and Bani Hayyan.
These warnings come amid escalating tensions on Israel's northern front, with exchanges of shelling and threats of a broader military operation.
Concerns of Extended Confrontation
The recent escalation reflects indicators of a potential slide towards a more comprehensive confrontation, as fears grow of a prolonged war on the Lebanese-Israeli border, with ongoing military operations and an expanding regional clash.
