A Dispute Between Elissa and Avichay Adraee on "X"

A Dispute Between Elissa and Avichay Adraee on "X"

The virtual tension between Lebanese artist Elissa and former Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee has resurfaced, following a sharp exchange on the "X" platform, reminiscent of their famous dispute from years ago.

A Fiery Tweet Opens the Debate

Elissa sparked widespread interaction after expressing her concern about the deteriorating security situation in Lebanon, considering that "Hezbollah" has transformed from a "Resistance Party" to a "fully-fledged terrorist party," in a direct and shocking description that caused a sharp division between supporters and opponents.
She urged Lebanese authorities to take strict decisions to ensure the safety of citizens, emphasizing that protecting lives should be the state's priority, through clear and firm policies in confronting security threats.

Adraee Responds… and Reopens Old Wounds

Adraee responded to Elissa's statements, considering that what she wrote reflects "the same logic" that previously led her to block him, referring to their old dispute.
He added that recent developments have proven – in his opinion – the validity of his previous positions regarding the need to take measures to protect Lebanese people, believing that the acknowledgment of this truth came late. He concluded by stating that "the common interest of humanity, both Lebanese and Israelis, should ultimately be the compass."

A Dispute Dating Back to 2019

It is worth noting that the two parties entered into a public confrontation in March 2019, when Elissa responded to Adraee's tweets with sharp remarks, describing his behavior at the time as "rudeness that can only be met with a block," and referred to him as "the rude occupier," before officially blocking him on the platform.

Widespread Interaction… and Lebanon at the Eye of the Storm

This verbal escalation comes at a time when Lebanon is witnessing increasing security tensions, making any statement from a public figure a potentially explosive matter on social media.
While some see Elissa's statements as a brave stance, others consider them a slip into sharp political rhetoric, it remains certain that her dispute with Adraee has reignited a broad discussion that transcends the boundaries of art… into the depths of the political and security scene in the region.
