After a delicate surgery .. health complications put Hani Shakir in intensive care

The Egyptian artist Hani Shakir is still battling a complex health crisis inside the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Giza Governorate, after undergoing a delicate surgery on his colon that caused serious complications in his heart and kidneys.

According to a source close to his family, the crisis began when doctors discovered polyps in the colon that required urgent surgical intervention.

However, the medical decision was delayed somewhat due to irregular heartbeats, which led to severe bleeding that required swift intervention from the medical team.

The medical team managed to restore the heartbeat to its normal state, leading to the decision to remove part of the colon during a surgical operation conducted in the past few days.

But after the surgery, some vital functions did not stabilize, especially kidney functions, which responded slowly, necessitating his transfer to intensive care and placing him under close monitoring.

So far, the artist has not regained full consciousness, while the hospital management has imposed strict instructions against visiting the intensive care room.

Artists Mervat Amin, Ilham Shaheen, and media personality Bussi Shalaby were keen to visit him, but they were unable to see him in compliance with the doctors' recommendations.

This crisis comes just a few weeks after his recovery from a delicate spinal surgery he underwent last January, following a severe herniated disc that required surgical intervention.

He had spent a recovery period before returning to his artistic activities, where he held a concert in the United Arab Emirates, but his health deteriorated again suddenly and more severely.

The artistic community and his audience in Egypt and the Arab world are awaiting updates on his health condition, amid widespread prayers for the speedy recovery of the Prince of Arab singing.
