YouTube has closed the Nasser TV channel, which was publishing audio recordings for the first time of the late Egyptian leader Jamal Abdel Nasser with leaders and presidents, after its recordings sparked widespread controversy due to sharp criticisms of Arab countries and shocking opinions on various issues.
Abdul Hakim Jamal Abdel Nasser, the son of the late leader, confirmed that the recordings were published to introduce new generations to his father's personality, after initially circulating under the name "Leaks".
YouTube indicated that the reason for the closure was "violating standards and fraudulent content." Among the most controversial recordings is a conversation between Nasser and the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi on August 4, 1970, which showed his inclination towards peaceful solutions, such as accepting the "Rogers Initiative" for a ceasefire and supporting UN Security Council Resolution 242.
The Library of Alexandria confirmed that it is not responsible for any circulated content related to Nasser's talks, except for materials published on his official archive website.
