Elon Musk announces "Grokipedia" to compete with Wikipedia and accuses it of bias

The American billionaire Elon Musk announced that his AI startup xAI is working on developing an open-source digital encyclopedia called "Grokipedia", in a move aimed at competing with Wikipedia, which Musk has repeatedly accused of "leftist bias".
Musk explained in a post on his platform "X" that "Grokipedia" will be "an open-source knowledge repository, much better than Wikipedia, and available to everyone without any usage restrictions", inviting interested individuals to join his company and contribute to the project.
This announcement comes as an extension of Musk's repeated attacks on the free encyclopedia; he previously offered in 2023 to buy Wikipedia for a billion dollars on the condition that it changes its name, and later described it as a "broken site" after a page linked former US President Donald Trump to "fascism" was published.
Musk's statements coincided with renewed criticism of Wikipedia, after one of its co-founders, Larry Sanger, accused it in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson of adopting a "censorship" policy against conservatives and libertarians, pointing out that previous analytical tools like "WikiScanner" revealed edits made from within the headquarters of the American Central Intelligence Agency.
