Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, during his visit to Washington, discussed ways to enhance strategic relations with the United States in separate meetings with both Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, and Scott Piesen, the Secretary of the Treasury.
Advanced Cooperation in Technology and Economy
During his meeting with Rubio, both sides reviewed pathways to develop bilateral relations, focusing on expanding partnership in economic and trade sectors, as well as advanced technology and artificial intelligence, reflecting both countries' direction towards deepening cooperation in future areas.
The meeting also addressed key regional issues, primarily developments in the Gaza Strip and the crisis in Sudan, emphasizing the importance of intensifying international efforts to stop violence and ensure humanitarian aid reaches civilians.
Supporting the Peace Plan and Enhancing Stability
Abdullah bin Zayed affirmed the UAE's commitment to supporting international initiatives aimed at enhancing regional stability, pointing to the importance of implementing the peace plan announced by Donald Trump regarding Gaza, and working with international partners to achieve security and stability in the region.
Extended Economic Partnership
In his meeting with the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, both sides discussed the prospects of economic partnership, especially with the approaching anniversary of the UAE's announcement of $1.4 trillion investments in the U.S. economy over ten years.
Both parties affirmed their eagerness to enhance economic cooperation to achieve sustainable growth and shared prosperity, within a strategic partnership that transcends the political dimension to broader economic and technological horizons.
