Trump Warns: 10 Days to Determine the Fate of the Agreement with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump stated yesterday, Thursday, that the next ten days will be crucial to determine whether a serious agreement can be reached with Iran, emphasizing that failure of the agreement could lead to "severe consequences."
Trump added, during the first meeting of the Peace Council in Washington, that "the talks are good, but it has been proven over the years that reaching a serious agreement with Iran is not easy. We need to reach a serious agreement, or the consequences will be severe."
He explained that the United States may need to go "a step further, or perhaps not, or maybe we will reach an agreement," noting that this will become clear in the next ten days.
Trump urged Tehran to reach a "meaningful deal," at a time when the United States continues military buildup in the Middle East, hinting at the possibility of launching an attack if necessary.
Indirect talks took place last Tuesday in Geneva between U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on one side, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the other, aimed at avoiding escalation of the crisis between the two countries.
Washington demands that Iran abandon its nuclear program, while Tehran denies any intentions to develop a nuclear weapon.
Iran is expected to present a written proposal during the talks in Geneva on how to address U.S. concerns, according to a senior U.S. official speaking to Reuters.
These developments come at a time when the world is closely monitoring the possibility of escalating tensions between the two powers, amid fears that any failure in the agreement could put the region on the brink of a new conflict.
