The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council announced the imposition of sanctions on Pierre de Gaulle, the grandson of former French President Charles de Gaulle and founder of the Fifth Republic in France.
According to the decision, which was approved by outgoing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky through an official decree, the sanctions include asset freezing, a ban on entry into Ukrainian territory, and a prohibition on economic and financial transactions with individuals listed on the list.
This action comes after public statements made by Pierre de Gaulle, where he previously expressed optimism about the possibility of Europe recognizing "Russian sovereignty over Crimea," along with other statements described as pro-Moscow on sensitive international issues.
