A senior Syrian official denied today, Wednesday, in a statement to "Al-Arabiya TV" the accuracy of recent reports regarding an Israeli proposal for a new security agreement with Syria, affirming that this news is "completely unfounded".
This official denial comes after media reports from outlets such as "Axios" and "Independent Arabia", which spoke of an Israeli proposal that includes a security deployment map starting from Damascus to the disengagement line in the occupied Golan, in addition to anticipated meetings between Syrian and Israeli officials under American sponsorship.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry had previously denied the existence of any security arrangements or understandings with Israel, emphasizing that Damascus's position is firm in rejecting any normalization or agreements outside the framework of international legitimacy decisions.
