Escalation Continues .. Poland Deploys Fighter Jets Following Russian Attacks on Ukraine

Poland, a member of NATO, deployed F-16 fighter jets alongside allied aircraft in the early hours of Saturday morning to secure its airspace following Russian strikes targeting areas in western Ukraine near the Polish border.
The Polish military operations command confirmed via the "X" platform that "Polish and allied fighters are operating in our airspace, while air defense systems and radars have been placed on high alert," noting that the move was a precautionary measure to protect the airspace.
This coincided with the Ukrainian Air Force announcing a state of air alert across most of the country, warning of a wave of Russian missile and drone attacks.
The Polish military clarified that the air operation ended shortly after 5 AM GMT, with the cessation of Russian strikes, confirming that the objective was to "ensure the security of the airspace in areas close to the threat."
In a related context, the Polish news agency reported that authorities found the last drone out of 24 that had breached Polish airspace 10 days ago, located in a field in the Korsz municipality in the northeast of the country.
Dariusz Brodowki, spokesperson for the prosecutor's office in the Olsztyn region, stated that indications suggest that the drone found is the last in the group that infiltrated Polish territory on the night of September 10.
