US President Donald Trump announced today, Tuesday, that he had direct talks with the "Hamas" movement, during which he demanded that the movement completely give up its weapons. Trump confirmed that the movement agreed to this, noting that the United States "will take care of it" if Hamas does not adhere to its commitment.
Trump: No room for wordplay
Trump explained in his statements: "I spoke to the Hamas movement and they informed me that they would give up their weapons. Disarming Hamas will happen quickly, and perhaps violently, because they know I do not play games." He added that the execution of this step "the sooner, the better," noting that his country will not hesitate to follow up on this issue.
Reference to internal clashes in Gaza
In the context of his talk, Trump addressed what he described as "eliminating two very bad gangs" inside Gaza at the hands of Hamas, saying:
> "I wasn't too bothered by that, it's fine, it’s no different from other countries."
He pointed out that Washington was aware that Hamas was rearming itself "to restore order in the sector," confirming that the United States "had granted it approval for that for some time" in order to achieve security stability.
The field situation in the Gaza Strip
On the ground, the Palestinian Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip announced that its security forces clashed in recent days with an armed militia inside the city of Gaza, killing a number of displaced individuals while they were returning from the south of the sector.
The ministry clarified that it opened the door for repentance and general amnesty for gang members who were not involved in murder crimes, to regularize their legal and security situations.
Security control and restoring order
Palestinian security sources confirmed that the security forces in Gaza managed to gain full control over the armed militia in the city and continue to carry out comprehensive sweeping operations in the areas where those groups were active.
