Recall of Thousands of "M&M's" Bags in America Due to Serious Error in Health Warnings

Products Intended for Corporate Use Included in the Recall
The recall decision included 1.3-ounce bags of "M&M's" candy in both peanut and classic varieties, which were specifically prepared for promotional use by companies and events, and were not intended for sale in stores.
These products were distributed in about 20 U.S. states, including California, Texas, Florida, and New York.
How to Identify Affected Products
The peanut "M&M's" included in the recall can be identified by a label that reads "Make Your Mark" with batch code M1823200 and an expiration date of April 30, 2026.
The classic version appears in promotional packages bearing logos of companies and institutions such as Subaru, Adobe, Xfinity, and Morgan Stanley, along with specific batch codes listed in the official recall announcement.
Classification of Potential Health Risks
The company began the recall process on January 26, while the FDA classified the product as category two on February 4, indicating that it may cause temporary or treatable health symptoms, with a limited possibility of serious complications.
Symptoms That May Be Life-Threatening
Health authorities warned that consuming this candy could lead to severe allergic reactions, such as rashes, swelling, and difficulty breathing, which could escalate to life-threatening anaphylaxis within minutes, especially for those allergic to peanuts, milk, or soy.
Calls for Immediate Disposal of Products
Authorities advised individuals with these allergies not to consume the candy and to dispose of it immediately if they possess it.
It is noted that Beacon Promotions, based in Minnesota, specializes in producing promotional materials bearing company logos, and among the entities that received these packages were major companies and American universities.
