"The Operations Room" in Sweida announces its coordination with Israel and the U.S. and opposes the government investigation committee

Tariq Al-Maghoush, a leader in the "Military Operations Room" in Sweida province, revealed the existence of direct coordination with Israel and the United States, aimed at ensuring "international protection" for the province and conducting an independent investigation into recent events, while refusing to recognize the investigation committee formed by the Syrian government.
This came in exclusive statements made by Al-Maghoush to the "Asharq Al-Awsat" newspaper, following the launch of the government committee tasked with investigating the clashes that took place in Sweida between local factions and tribal elements.
Al-Maghoush, who identifies himself as a representative of Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hajri (one of the sheikhs of the Druze community in Sweida), explained that the "Operations Room is working on joint coordination with both the American and Israeli sides", considering that Israel has a "significant role in repelling attacks on Sweida", describing the relationship with it as "good", and confirming that they "request its protection".
On the other hand, Al-Maghoush described the government investigation committee as "illegitimate", stating: "We will not allow it to enter the province", adding that they will deal with it "politely" by informing it that it is "prohibited from operating in Sweida, and it must return from where it came". He also claimed that the "Operations Room" led what he called the "Decisive Battle" against the regime of former Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, and contributed to "liberating the province".
In a related context, the Syrian Ministry of Justice announced the formation of a special investigation committee headed by Minister Mazhar Al-Wais, to investigate the violations of recent events in Sweida. Al-Wais confirmed during the opening session that the committee will work with "transparency and justice" to ensure security and civil peace, with a promise to issue a comprehensive report that includes the names of those involved and refer them to the judiciary.
It is noteworthy that the government committee confirmed its independence and that it operates under a mandate from the presidency, while the "Operations Room" insists on its rejection, claiming to represent the will of the people of Sweida.
