The artist Ashraf Zaki, head of the Actors' Syndicate in Egypt, has filed a formal complaint with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation against the blogger known as "Um Jaser," following a video she posted on her Facebook account, which the syndicate deemed offensive and containing violations.
The complaint came as part of a legal escalation, following the Actors' Syndicate's decision to suspend the series "Soul OFF" due to regulatory violations, including contracting with "Um Jaser" without obtaining the necessary permits from the syndicate, in clear violation of the regulations governing artistic work.
The syndicate affirmed its commitment to applying the laws governing the profession and its rejection of any content or practices that undermine the dignity of the artistic community or offend its workers.
