The Actors' Syndicate Stops the Show 'Soul OFF' and Bans Its Broadcast in Ramadan 2026

In a surprising decision that shook the Egyptian artistic community, the Actors' Syndicate officially announced the permanent suspension of the series "Soul OFF" and its prohibition from airing during Ramadan 2026, confirming that the decision is final.
This action came after a series of repeated warnings issued by the syndicate to the producer of the series, Bilal Sabry, to adhere to the syndicate's regulations and the laws governing artistic work, but he continued to violate them.
The most significant recent violation was contracting with the blogger "Um Jaser" without official permission from the syndicate, in a clear breach of the syndicate's rules that prohibit hiring individuals not registered in its legal records.
The syndicate clarified in its statement that protecting the profession and safeguarding the rights of its members is its top priority, and that any artistic work that does not comply with the laws will face decisive actions, emphasizing that the suspension decision is final and strict adherence to the principle of equal opportunities and respect for the rules of artistic work is mandatory.
The series "Soul OFF" is an Egyptian drama written by Ahmed Ashour and directed by Karim Rafat, and it was expected to be aired during the Ramadan season 2026.
The plot revolves around a singer who gained wide fame in the 1990s but lost his status, attempting to revive his artistic career by collaborating with rising rap stars, in a journey filled with competition and conflicts to rebuild his artistic path.
The cast includes Munther Rayhana, Mirna Walid, Salah Abdallah, Nancy Salah, Tarek El-Nahry, Sherif Baher, Mohamed Suleiman, Tahr Abu Leila, Reda Hamid, Rania El-Toumi, Ashraf Talaba, Nermin Gamal, along with rap stars like Samir Afartu, Felix, Risha Costa, Samara, and Sadat.
The syndicate clearly warned against any future violations, affirming that adherence to the law is the only way to continue in the Egyptian artistic community.
