Syria and Qatar discuss enhancing cooperation in the oil and gas sectors

Syrian Minister of Energy Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashir discussed today, Monday, in the Qatari capital Doha with Qatari Minister of State for Energy Engineer Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, particularly in the oil and gas sectors, within the framework of the growing relations between the two countries.
The meeting addressed the possibilities of exchanging technical and engineering expertise, and benefiting from Qatar's pioneering experiences in developing energy infrastructure projects, especially the experience of "Qatar Energy," which is one of the leading global companies in this field.
The two ministers also discussed prospects for joint investment in future energy projects, and ways to support efforts aimed at developing the sector in Syria, which contributes to achieving the interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples, and enhances opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
Both parties emphasized the importance of continuing technical and institutional consultation and coordination, in line with the rapid developments in the energy sector, and contributing to building practical partnerships that serve the energy security of the region.
