The Electricity Company in Deir ez-Zor province began today, Saturday, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to implement a new lighting project targeting the main entrances of the city by installing 815 solar-powered lighting devices.
The project aims to enhance public safety and improve services in vital areas, especially with the return of thousands of residents and displaced persons to the city in recent months. It is also an important step towards relying on alternative energy in light of the challenges facing the traditional electrical grid.
The project is part of the infrastructure support plan in Deir ez-Zor, and it is expected to contribute to securing nighttime lighting for entrances, markets, and public facilities, positively impacting commercial and security movement in the city.
