Sheikh Tareef's statement calls for preserving the Druze identity and enhancing Syrian unity.

Sheikh Moufaq Tarif, the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel and the head of the Druze Supreme Religious Council, emphasized the importance of preserving the Druze identity in Syria and ensuring its rightful place within the unified Syrian nation, especially amidst the recent challenges facing the community.
Tarif explained that there is daily communication with Druze elders in Syria to monitor their situation and provide necessary support, while fully respecting their internal decisions without any external interference.
He stressed that the Druze community remains loyal to its people in Syria, holding onto values of brotherhood and loyalty, committed to defending their interests. He affirmed that strategic decisions concern the Druze themselves, and any external role should be within their best interests.
Tarif expressed full support for the Druze community in Syria, considering its members an integral part of the Syrian fabric, preserving their historical Arab identity, contributing to the country's history, and calling for respect for their role and not undermining their significance.
He called for strengthening national unity among all components of Syrian society, safeguarding the constitutional rights of all citizens, and working together to achieve stability and progress in the country, warning against sectarian strife and tensions that threaten social cohesion.
In a related context, he warned of the danger of false news on social media, urging verification of sources and not succumbing to rumors that incite discord, emphasizing the importance of relying on reliable official sources.
He concluded his statement by reaffirming support for the Druze community in Syria regionally and internationally, calling for unity and a unified voice away from disputes, as well as wishing healing for the wounded and mercy for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed for dignity and honor.
