SDF confirms commitment to the unity of Syria and emphasizes comprehensive dialogue

The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced on Sunday its commitment to the "unity of Syria, land and people," emphasizing the importance of comprehensive and responsible dialogue to ensure the unity of the country and involve all Syrian components in shaping solutions.

The Autonomous Administration covers areas in North and East Syria located in parts of the provinces of Hasakah, Raqqa, Aleppo, and Deir ez-Zor, and is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The region is characterized by ethnic and religious diversity, with Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, and Assyrians living in it.

These statements came in the context of an ongoing negotiation process with the new Syrian government headed by Ahmad al-Shara, amid tensions over several issues, including the law for the elections of the People's Council, the mechanism for forming the new army, and measures to maintain the distinctiveness of the Syrian Democratic Forces within the military institution.

Sunday's statements reflect the continued approach of the Autonomous Administration in seeking solutions through dialogue and understanding, following its delegation's visit to Damascus last August, as part of negotiation efforts since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime last December.
