Presidential Decree Forming the Supreme Council for Economic Development in Syria
The President, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shar', issued Decree No. (115) for the year 2025, forming the Supreme Council for Economic Development, in a step aimed at enhancing economic stability in Syria and revitalizing the development process across its various sectors.

This new council comes within the state's vision to unify developmental and economic efforts under a central umbrella capable of supervision and coordination. The council is responsible for developing a comprehensive economic map covering the entire Syrian geography, in addition to overseeing a number of state-affiliated economic bodies, institutions, and organizations.

The council is tasked with approving strategies and general plans related to investment, supporting production projects, and achieving integration between government plans and the private sector, in line with the comprehensive national economic plan.

It is expected that the council will serve as an effective central tool in directing economic development, achieving balance between regions, and supporting priority projects, amidst the current challenges and exceptional circumstances facing the country.

This decision is part of a series of consecutive government steps to restructure the Syrian economic landscape and unify efforts towards transitioning to a more flexible and sustainable economy.
