President Ahmad al-Shara receives the Russian Deputy Prime Minister in Damascus to enhance strategic cooperation

During the meeting, ways to enhance strategic cooperation between Syria and Russia in various fields were discussed, especially in the sectors of energy, economy, and defense, in addition to political coordination on regional and international issues of common interest.
President al-Shara emphasized the importance of the Russian role in supporting Syria's stability, praising Moscow's steadfast positions regarding the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territory, while Novak expressed the Russian leadership's keenness to develop relations with Damascus, pointing out that the upcoming phase will witness a qualitative leap in bilateral cooperation, especially with the ongoing preparations for the anticipated Arab-Russian summit in Moscow.
This meeting comes amid increasing diplomatic activity between the two sides, reflecting a political and strategic consensus in facing regional challenges, and confirming the continuation of Russian support for Syria in the phase of reconstruction and recovery.
