Netanyahu announces the end of the "immunity" of Hamas leaders and confirms: the operation in Doha was an independent Israeli one

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that the days when Hamas leaders enjoyed immunity are "gone for good," in response to airstrikes targeting senior officials of the movement in the Qatari capital, Doha.
This came during a speech by Netanyahu at an event at the American embassy in Jerusalem, where he said: "The days of immunity that Hamas leaders enjoyed are over.. Anywhere.. I will not allow such immunity to exist."
He explained that he ordered this specific operation, saying: "To settle accounts with the killers, and to ensure the security of Israeli citizens in the future," as he put it.
In a separate context, Netanyahu linked the possibility of an immediate end to the war on Gaza to Hamas's acceptance of the ceasefire proposal put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump, confirming that Israel had accepted its terms.
Netanyahu said: "Israel accepted the principles, the proposal put forward by President Trump to end the war, starting with the immediate release of all our prisoners." Adding: "If President Trump's proposal is accepted, the war can end immediately."
For its part, the Israeli army announced the execution of airstrikes targeting the "leadership of Hamas" in Doha under the name "Operation Summit of Fire," describing it as "targeted and precise."
A statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office confirmed that the operation was "completely independent Israeli," indicating that "Israel initiated it.. Israel executed it, and Israel bears full responsibility for it."
The army reported that the targets were leaders who "led Hamas activities over the years, and bear direct responsibility" for the attack on October 7 and for "managing the war against Israel."
It was not immediately clear who the targeted leaders were or their fate as a result of these airstrikes, which were condemned by Qatar, describing them as an attack on residential buildings housing officials.
