NATO Strengthens Its Presence in the Baltic Sea After Drone Incidents in Denmark

NATO announced on Saturday that it is strengthening its presence in the Baltic Sea by adding an air defense frigate and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms, in response to incidents of drones breaching airspace in Denmark.
The alliance's spokesperson refused to disclose the countries participating with the additional means, while the Danish armed forces had detected unidentified drones near military facilities, leading to the temporary closure of Copenhagen Airport for several hours, along with five other airports.
These measures are part of the "Eastern Sentry" mission to enhance defense on Europe's eastern front following alleged breaches of Polish airspace by Russian aircraft. In this context, Estonia claimed that three Russian MiG-31 aircraft breached its airspace before NATO aircraft escorted them, while Russia denied the allegations, asserting that its planes were on a pre-planned mission.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned the alliance and the European Union that any aggression against Russia would face a "decisive response".
