Nablus and Hebron: 56 Palestinians Arrested After Intensive Israeli Raids

The Israeli forces renewed their raids today, Thursday, in several areas of the West Bank, focusing on Nablus and Hebron, resulting in the injury of 4 Palestinians, including a child, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
In a related context, the Palestinian News and Information Agency (Wafa) reported that the Israeli forces arrested 56 Palestinian citizens, including two women from the Hebron governorate in the southern West Bank.
Security sources clarified that the Israeli forces carried out raids in the Wadi al-Hariya and Khirbat Qalqas areas south of Hebron, arresting 12 Palestinians. They also raided homes in the towns of Deir Samet and Al-Burj west of Hebron, arresting 4 citizens after searching their homes and tampering with their contents.
* Beit Ummar Under Siege and Ongoing Arrests
For the second consecutive day, the Israeli forces launched a campaign of raids and arrests in the town of Beit Ummar north of Hebron, covering most of the town's homes and turning a large number of them into military barracks.
The army also imposed a tight siege on the town, declaring it a closed military zone, preventing citizens from moving. The arrests extended to include more than 40 Palestinians, including two women.
* Human Rights Organization Warns of Crimes Against Humanity
This coincided with a new report from Human Rights Watch, which confirmed that Israel's expulsion of tens of thousands of Palestinians from the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams camps in early 2025 amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The organization stated that about 32,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced during the "Iron Wall" operation and were prevented from returning, while hundreds of homes were demolished.
* Background of Violence and Occupation
It is noted that since the attack on October 7, 2023, about a thousand Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, and the frequency of attacks by Israeli settlers has increased, with the United Nations recording at least 264 attacks in October 2025, the highest monthly number since monitoring began in 2006.
Israel has occupied the West Bank since the 1967 war, considering settlements a means to provide strategic and security depth, while most of the international community views these settlements as illegal under international law, a claim that Israel rejects, considering the West Bank "disputed land."
