The Syrian army announced on Monday evening that one of its military bases in Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, was subjected to a missile attack, marking a new escalation in the region's increasing tensions.

According to a statement from the operations authority, the targeted base is located near the town of Al-Yarubiyah in the Hasakah countryside, where 5 missiles fell in its vicinity without an immediate announcement of the extent of the damages.

The Syrian army clarified that the missiles were launched from within Iraqi territory, specifically from the vicinity of the village of "Tal al-Hawa" at a depth of about 20 kilometers.
