Mahmoud Hijazi Responds to Harassment Allegations for the First Time via Instagram

In his first official response after being caught in a harassment and sexual assault incident, artist Mahmoud Hijazi made ambiguous statements via his Instagram account, using a Quranic verse in an attempt to clarify his position regarding the accusations against him.
Hijazi wrote in the story feature:
"And they plot, and Allah plots; and Allah is the best of plotters," he added: "The scheming of humans and their plots, no matter how great, face the planning of Allah Almighty, which nullifies them and turns them into benefit."
It seems that the artist intended through this statement to refer to the accusations leveled against him.
The Egyptian security forces had arrested Hijazi on charges of harassment and sexual assault against a woman of foreign nationality of Egyptian origin, inside a hotel in Cairo.
Investigative authorities examined the complaint to verify the validity of the allegations, while the artist categorically denied all accusations against him.
In a related context, Hijazi had previously been released on bail of 10,000 Egyptian pounds in a prior case related to beating and dragging his wife, where investigative authorities heard his wife's statements after she officially accused him of assaulting her with beating and insults, causing her various injuries and bruises.
These developments have sparked widespread controversy on social media, with the public closely following what the investigations in both cases will reveal.
