Libya.. Haftar and Saleh meet with Sisi in Alamein to discuss the UN roadmap and elections

Both the Libyan Army Commander, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, arrived in the Egyptian city of Alamein at the invitation of the head of the Egyptian Intelligence Service, Major General Hassan Rashad, according to Libyan diplomatic sources.
The two parties are scheduled to hold a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, either as part of a joint trilateral summit or through separate meetings, to discuss the new roadmap proposed by the UN mission, focusing on the elections and the formation of a unified government.
Sources confirmed that Sisi will emphasize the necessity of not obstructing any international or regional efforts to end the Libyan crisis, warning that any disruption could expose the concerned parties to international sanctions. The discussions will also address security cooperation between the Egyptian army and the Libyan National Army to control the borders and combat illegal immigration, as well as enhance stability in the border triangle, in addition to discussing the maritime border agreement between Libya and Turkey.
This development comes after Major General Hassan Rashad's visit to the Libyan city of Benghazi, where he discussed with Marshal Haftar the mechanisms for coordination on security and intelligence issues of mutual interest, as part of Egypt's efforts to support stability and enhance the political process in Libya in preparation for presidential and parliamentary elections.
