Israel announced on Friday that it carried out airstrikes on sites in southern Syria, stating that these were in response to an attack targeting civilians from the Druze community in Sweida province.

The Israeli army reported that the strikes targeted "command and weapon facilities in several Syrian army camps," confirming that the operation was in light of events from Thursday.
It clarified in a statement that the attack preceding the airstrikes targeted Druze civilians in Sweida, without providing precise details about its nature.

In contrast, Syrian state media did not confirm the occurrence of these airstrikes, and details regarding the attack on the Druze civilians remain unclear so far.
Local Druze factions reported that the incident resulted in the death of 9 people and the detention of 12 others, in addition to the kidnapping of 7 individuals, with reports of a missile and drone attack, without specifying the responsible party.

The Israeli army emphasized that it "will not allow harm to the Druze in Syria," confirming its ongoing monitoring of developments in southern Syria and readiness to act according to political leadership directives.
