Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shahr held a bilateral meeting with Russian Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Alexey Kruddev, on the sidelines of the official Russian delegation's visit to Damascus, which included extensive meetings with several Syrian government ministers.
During the meeting, attended by several Syrian ministers, strategic files related to enhancing economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries were discussed, including the development of production infrastructure, expanding Russian investments in Syria, and activating bilateral agreements in the fields of energy, technology, and heavy and light industries.
Minister Al-Shahr emphasized that Syria views its partnership with Russia as a fundamental pillar in the reconstruction phase, pointing to the importance of transferring Russian industrial expertise and localizing it in the Syrian market, which achieves economic integration and enhances opportunities for sustainable growth.
For his part, Kruddev stressed Moscow's readiness to expand cooperation with Damascus and provide technical and technological support in the productive sectors, noting that Russia sees Syria as a strategic partner in the region, and that the upcoming phase will witness practical steps to translate understandings into tangible projects.
This meeting comes in the context of the rising Syrian-Russian economic movement, which aims to build an integrated cooperation system that contributes to stimulating the Syrian economy and opens new horizons for joint investments.
