France: Rescue of 15 Eritrean migrants after being discovered inside a refrigerated truck heading to Britain

The French emergency teams managed to rescue 15 Eritrean migrants who were hiding inside a refrigerated truck while the driver stopped at a rest area on the highway in northern France. The truck was heading towards Britain, where officials discovered that they were suffering from a severe drop in their body temperature after hours of hiding inside the truck, indicating that they had been exposed to extremely difficult conditions.
According to statements from Christian Videlago, head of the local governor's office in the Pas-de-Calais department, the migrants were in critical health condition when discovered, necessitating the transfer of four of them to the hospital. Four minors were also handed over to specialized care associations, with confirmation that one of them was a woman. Videlago noted that many of these migrants had received official orders to leave France.
Videlago added that the Moroccan driver who was driving the truck, which was loaded with refrigerated vegetables, was not investigated in this incident. Although many illegal migrants attempt to reach Britain by sea using small boats, others still risk trying to hide inside cargo trucks heading there, despite the significant dangers they may face.
