The General Establishment for Electricity Transmission and Distribution has decided to reduce the price of kilowatt-hour for exempted lines from rationing, either partially or completely, in order to support industrial and commercial sectors in Syria. The director of the establishment, Engineer Khalid Aboudi, explained on Tuesday, according to "SANA," that "the decision includes cities and industrial areas, where the price will be reduced by 21% for industrial and commercial sectors, making the new price 1500 Syrian pounds per kilowatt-hour." Aboudi pointed out that "the aim of this decision is to support and stimulate production activities in factories and industrial facilities, as well as to alleviate the financial burdens on the industrial sector and economic establishments, and to improve the level of electricity services provided to industrial areas." Aboudi added that "this decision will have positive effects on the Syrian economy, by increasing productivity and efficiency in factories and industrial facilities, as well as improving the standard of living for citizens and enhancing economic stability in the country." He reiterated the commitment of the establishment to provide high-quality electricity services to cities and industrial areas, while continuing to promote economic growth in Syria. Qatar News Agency (QNA) announced last month that Qatar has launched a humanitarian initiative to provide natural gas supplies through Jordanian territories to support the electricity sector in Syria. The initiative aims to address the severe electricity production shortage and improve the infrastructure performance in the country, starting with generating 400 megawatts of electricity, gradually increasing it according to the network's needs.
