Four people were killed on Tuesday when a military helicopter crashed in the "Darjeh" area of Khomayni Shahr County in Isfahan Province, central Iran, according to official media reports.

Victims Included Crew and Civilians

The Mehr News Agency quoted Hojjatollah Karkar, the Director General of the Fire Department in Khomayni Shahr Municipality, stating that the incident resulted in the deaths of the helicopter's pilot and co-pilot, in addition to two civilians who were working at stalls in the nearby fruit and vegetable market.

Fire Erupted After the Crash

The official explained that the helicopter caught fire immediately upon impact with the ground, before firefighting and rescue teams were able to control the blaze shortly after, with the participation of ambulance and emergency teams. He confirmed that the severity of the incident led to the deaths of the four victims at the crash site.

Training Helicopter and Investigation Underway

For its part, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported that the helicopter belonged to the Iranian army and was designated for training missions. The state television also indicated that relevant authorities have begun an investigation to determine the causes of the incident, with results to be announced after the technical procedures are completed.

This incident comes at a time when the region is experiencing heightened security tensions, while authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the circumstances of the helicopter's fall.
