Reuters reported today, Tuesday, that Iran is close to finalizing a deal with China to purchase anti-ship cruise missiles, each with a range of about 290 kilometers, in a move aimed at enhancing its offensive capability amid rising tensions with the United States.
Details of the Deal
Sources confirmed that the missiles are of the Chinese CM-302 model, designed to evade naval defenses by flying at high speed and low altitude, increasing their threat to U.S. naval forces. Negotiations began two years ago but accelerated after the war between Israel and Iran last June, while a delivery date has not yet been specified.
