Washington Engages with Arab Countries to Contain Statements by Its Ambassador in Tel Aviv

Politico revealed that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump made several contacts with Arab countries to clarify its position following controversial statements made by U.S. Ambassador to Tel Aviv Mike Huckabee.

U.S. officials, including Deputy Secretary of State Chris Landau and Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs Alison Hooker, clarified that Huckabee's statements reflect his personal views and do not represent the administration's policy.

These contacts came after a podcast interview that sparked anger in Arab countries, where the ambassador indicated that Tel Aviv has the right to expand "from the Euphrates to the Nile," prompting 12 Arab countries to condemn his remarks, describing them as provocative and contrary to Washington's plans regarding Gaza.
