The Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Mohammad Nidal Al-Sha'ar, met with the Saudi Minister of Investment, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih.

The ministers held discussions on ways to enhance economic and developmental cooperation between Syria and Saudi Arabia.

The Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry issued a statement mentioning that Al-Sha'ar and Al-Falih held a virtual meeting via video conferencing technology, where they discussed available investment opportunities in Syria, mechanisms to activate economic partnership between the two countries, including supporting qualitative investments in productive and service sectors, and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors.

During the meeting, Al-Sha'ar emphasized the importance of developing economic relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia, stressing that Syria is keen on providing a safe and attractive investment environment, welcoming Saudi and Arab investors to contribute to development and reconstruction efforts.

The Syrian Minister of Economy also highlighted that enhancing partnership with the Kingdom is part of the country's strategy aiming to support regional integration and boost post-war investment.

On his part, Al-Falih expressed the Kingdom's desire to enhance its investments in Syria, affirming Saudi Arabia's support for the stability of the Syrian economy and creating necessary conditions to expand strategic partnerships between the two parties.

According to the statement, this meeting is part of "efforts to enhance Arab economic cooperation and open new horizons for joint investments that serve the interests of both parties".
