Director of Relations at the General Authority for Syrian Land and Maritime Ports, Mazen Aloush, confirmed the return of more than 400,000 Syrian refugees to their country through land border crossings within 6 months after the overthrow of former President Bashar al-Assad. Aloush stated in an interview with the Syrian channel "Al-Ikhbariya": "More than 400,000 Syrians have returned to the country through land border crossings since their liberation from the ousted regime on December 8, 2024, with 90,000 Syrians returning to settle in the country during the past month of May." Aloush pointed out that "more than 25,000 citizens have returned through land border crossings during the first week of the current month of June." He added that the majority of Syrians are returning to the country through land routes from Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan.
