Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed today, Friday, that the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon came as a result of collective efforts and significant sacrifices made by the Lebanese people, emphasizing that the country has entered a new phase titled establishing stability.
“We will not be a pawn in anyone's hands”
Aoun stated that Lebanon has been “regained for the first time in nearly half a century,” affirming that his country is no longer a playground for the conflicts of others or a card in their calculations.
Negotiations from a position of strength
He stressed that the ongoing negotiations do not indicate weakness or concession, but are a decision stemming from the strength of the state and its commitment to the rights of its people, while confirming that no right or inch of Lebanese territory will be compromised.
Refusal to continue the bleeding
The Lebanese president affirmed that he will not allow the continued loss of lives for external interests, indicating his readiness to bear full responsibility for the protection of the country.
A new phase
He added that the next phase will transition from establishing a ceasefire to working on permanent agreements that ensure long-term security and stability.
Call for unity
He called on the Lebanese to unite and reject divisions, emphasizing that the strength of the country lies in the unity of its people, and that reconstruction will be a collective responsibility.

He concluded by stressing that any agreement will not undermine Lebanon's sovereignty or the dignity of its people, affirming that the future of the country will be shaped by the will of its citizens.
