Today, Friday, a delegation from the General Directorate for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf, accompanied by representatives from the "HEKS EPER" organization, visited the Rastan Dam in Hama Governorate, in the presence of the Director of Water Resources in the governorate, Engineer Riad Al-Obaid, to review the works carried out under the dam rehabilitation plan.
The works that have been implemented during the past period included the restoration of the dam body, rehabilitation of electrical panels, and maintenance of vital facilities, with direct support from the international organization, as part of enhancing water infrastructure and ensuring resource sustainability.
Engineer Al-Obaid confirmed that the visit aims to monitor the progress of the works and identify the technical and administrative needs related to water management in the governorate, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitating strategic dams, foremost among them the Rastan Dam, to meet the needs of farmers and local residents and ensure water security in the region.
