The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced that the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo Governorate managed, today Thursday, to arrest Hussein Haj Mwas, who hails from the village of Maran in the Aleppo countryside, and is involved in the terrorist explosion that targeted the town of Sجو in 2020, which resulted in the death of dozens of innocent civilian martyrs and injuries.
Investigations revealed that the criminal was working as a driver for cargo vehicles, and exploited his job to smuggle weapons and prohibited materials, before being tasked with carrying out a car bombing in exchange for financial amounts from suspicious parties.
The arrest took place while he was attempting to escape disguised in women's clothing, in an effort to evade security pursuit, but he fell into the hands of the internal security forces after a precise monitoring operation. He has been referred to the competent judiciary to receive his just punishment according to the applicable laws.
The Ministry of Interior confirms that this operation comes as part of its ongoing efforts to pursue those involved in terrorist acts and to ensure justice for the victims of the explosions that targeted civilians in past years.
