The Syrian Defense Minister discusses ways to enhance security cooperation with the head of the UN peacekeeping mission

The Syrian Defense Minister, Major General Marhaf Abu Qasra, received today, Thursday, in the capital Damascus, the head of the United Nations peacekeeping mission "UNTSO" Patrick Gouchat, in an official meeting that addressed ways to develop cooperation and joint coordination between the two sides, which enhances efforts for security and peace in the region.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing technical and operational communication channels between the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the UNTSO mission, especially in light of the security challenges facing the region, and the necessity of supporting stability through effective UN mechanisms.

The meeting also discussed expanding areas of cooperation in training and joint planning, and exchanging experiences in crisis management, in line with the United Nations' goals of supporting member states in maintaining civil peace.
