Syrian prominent entrepreneur Ahmad Sufyan Beram (born 1990) has been appointed as an executive advisor to the Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology, overseeing innovation and startup affairs. This appointment took place on Saturday, May 10, as part of supporting and empowering the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Syria.
Beram serves as the General Partner at "Blackbox," a platform dedicated to supporting global entrepreneurs based in Silicon Valley.
He also holds leadership roles in several prominent international organizations, being a board member of "Techfugees," "SPARK," "UNHCR," "Jusoor," and "The Human Safety Net".
Previously, Beram held the position of Regional Director at "Techstars," a leading company in early-stage startup investments, overseeing operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, known for its global activity in early-stage investments.
He has authored two important books, "Entrepreneurship in Conflict Zones" and "Entrepreneurship in Exile," and was awarded the Arab Social Entrepreneurs Award for 2019 by Queen Silvia of Sweden, as the head of the Arab Mentor organization.
Beram has been selected as the Arab Leader for 2024 by the Arab Center under the patronage of Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sultan Al Neyadi, the Minister of Youth in the United Arab Emirates.
He regularly participates in major global events, publishing his articles and research on top international media platforms such as the World Economic Forum magazine, Forbes, The Guardian, Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Huffington Post.
He also frequently speaks at prestigious international events, delivering presentations and interventions at the United Nations Headquarters, the European Parliament, ESCWA Committee, the World Bank, Wilton Park Forum, Google, SPARK Ignite events, Techfugees Summit, and Startup Istanbul Forum.
