What did Trump say about the possibility of Israel using nuclear weapons against Iran?

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that Israel "will never use a nuclear weapon" against Iran, amid escalating military tensions in the region and ongoing U.S. operations within Iranian territory.
Trump's Position on Nuclear Weapon Use
Trump stated during a press conference yesterday that he does not believe Israel would resort to using nuclear weapons to resolve its disputes.
This statement came in response to a question regarding a comment made by his advisor David Sachs in a podcast, where he predicted the possibility of Israel escalating the war with Iran and considering the use of nuclear weapons.
Trump added emphatically:
"Israel will not do that. Israel will never do that."
According to estimates from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Israel possesses about 90 nuclear warheads.
Escalation of Military Operations Inside Iran
In a related context, Trump announced that U.S. military operations are intensifying inside Iran, noting that thousands of sites have been targeted since the beginning of the war, leading to a significant reduction in Tehran's capabilities.
During a press conference in Washington, he said:
"The war on Iran has continued at full force over the past few days."
He clarified that the United States:
- Targeted more than 7,000 sites across Iran
- Included commercial and military sites among the targets
- Achieved a 90% reduction in ballistic missile launches
- And a 95% reduction in drone launches
He added:
"Only a few missiles remain... We targeted 3 missile and drone manufacturing sites today."
Naval Losses and Targeting the Strait of Hormuz
Trump noted that operations also included naval targets, stating:
"More than 100 Iranian ships have been sunk since the start of the war... Attacks continue in all directions."
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he clarified:
"We destroyed 30 mine-laying ships... and I'm not sure if any mines have been laid."
International Call for Participation in Operations
The U.S. President emphasized the importance of international cooperation, stating that his country encourages other nations to join military efforts, adding:
"We want to help them and we want to get the strait back to work... Some countries are enthusiastic and some are not."
Denial of Targeting U.S. Fighters
In a related context, the U.S. Central Command denied reports that Iran had destroyed any U.S. fighter jets in the region.
