US Sanctions Target Ali Larijani and Prominent Iranian Officials

The US State Department confirmed that the United States will continue to prevent the Iranian regime from accessing the global banking system as long as it continues to suppress its people, noting that these measures aim to increase pressure on Tehran to force it to change its behavior.
The new sanctions included 18 additional individuals and entities, including security leaders accused of using force against protesters in several Iranian provinces, as well as foreign companies in the UAE, Singapore, and the UK, which Washington said played a role in laundering Iranian oil revenues.
This development reflects an American escalation targeting security and financial decision-making centers in Iran and is considered a strong political message that Washington will not tolerate continued domestic repression.
