The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed in its monthly report that the recent positive developments in Syria, including the political transition and the formation of an interim government, present a historic opportunity to restore hope for Syrian children and their families, and to enhance national unity.

The report, published on the organization's official website, pointed out that these transformations contribute to reshaping permanent solutions, which may facilitate the voluntary return of refugees and internally displaced persons.

It also emphasized that lifting sanctions on Syria will play a pivotal role in alleviating humanitarian suffering, enabling aid delivery, and enhancing early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

UNICEF highlighted that some challenges still persist, such as the risk of unexploded ordnance, reaffirming its continued support for children's rights and its assistance to Syria in its journey towards recovery, peace, and sustainable development.
